I also heard that the men drink and while their time away. The women take care of their children by slogging it out. Sad!

Banjara Lady
These women make a living singing nasal tunes to the tourists at Sunset Point in the Thar Desert.
The worshipper
While at Sunset Point in the Thar Desert, caught this man bowing by his camelside....saying his prayers
The fire swallower
This was at a resort performance in the Thar Desert...surrounded by darkness, the pyrotechnics were awesome despite the cold desert night air...
The musician in Jodhpur
This guy played a nice Rajasthani tune for me...I tipped him 20 Rs. and he played some more...:)
Sheppard with a cell phone
Loved his earrings. He hitched a ride with us from some place on the Rann of Kutch close to Dholavira...he had a cell phone and we were pleasantly surprised that technology had reached the farthest corners of the country!

Great Sand Dunes Park, Colorado
One of the most amazing experiences of my life. The landscape was dominated by these giant sand dunes and cradled in the midst of a ring of Rocky Mountains. The wind was so strong, we had to walk up the dunes with goggles on to protect our eyes. We managed only up the first dune because each step was like walking a mile.

The Palace of Utelia
Palace of Utelia:
Visiting the Indus Valley site at Lothal, we stayed overnight at the Palace of Utelia a few miles from the excavations...
It felt great to be staying at a real palace and converse with the prince of the palace, Bhageerath. We got to chat on various topics including the local Gujarat Politics, Modi, the plight of the local villagers...we also got to see the princely painting collection and took a tour of the palace and the village outside the palace.
